Probationary Firefighter Lucas Burkovich graduated this morning from the New York City Fire Department's Fire Academy. FF Burkovich who has spent the last 6 months in their academy, was also an FDNY EMT for several years before being promoted to Firefighter. Lucas will now be assigned to 46Engine/27Truck in the Bronx.

Lucas spent several years as a Fire Explorer and Volunteer Firefighter at Ridge Culver before moving to NYC to work for FDNY. Lucas has spent most of his life "growing up" around Ridge Culver and we are extremely proud of his accomplishment. We wish him a long and safe career!

His father William Burkovich is a Past Volunteer Fire Chief and current Fire Commissioner and is pictured with Lucas.
